Mark B. Snyder, D.M.D., is an internationally known
periodontist and implant surgeon whose practice and research emphasizes the
importance oral health plays in an individual's well being. He regularly
lectures on implant dentistry to dentists and other healthcare
professionals throughout the

Dr. Snyder graduated from Bowdoin College. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania and trained in Anatomic, Surgical and Forensic Pathology at the Philadelphia General Hospital and Office of the Medical Examiner of Philadelphia. He also trained in Oral Medicine and Pathology at Guy's Hospital in London and received speciality certification in Periodontology and Oral Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Snyder has been a member of the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania since 1977 where he is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontology. He is also Clinical Associate Professor of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at New York University and Consultant at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. His past academic and hospital appointments have included Director of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Senior House Officer, Guy's Hospital, London, England, and Director of Oral Diagnosis at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
As the Consultant Forensic Odontologist to the Office of the
Medical Examiner of Philadelphia and
Dr. Snyder is active in many professional societies and serves as a Board Member of
the Northeastern Society of Periodontists. He is a Fellow of the American College of
Dentists and a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He is a Diplomate
